Webinar - 2020

Traditional functional magnetic resonance imaging (fmri) recording and stimulation of nerve activity

This web seminar held on November 12, 2020

Seminar introduction

The United States at the university of north Carolina (UNC) Ian Dr Shih will be clarified first neuron activity in the webinars and occasionally complicated relationship between hemodynamic response.Dr Shih will be discussed based on the EPI can stimulate and record the neuron activity during the period of fMRI techniques, including deep brain stimulation, light genetics, electrophysiology, fast scan cyclic voltammetry and fiber spectrophotometry, and share an example of using these tools to study nerve vascular coupling.

Second part of the webinars will be made by the same new scientist Martin from UNC MacKinnon lecture, he won the 2020 brooke MRI awards, brooke during the 2020 annual ISMRM conference announced the award.MacKinnon will be introduced to "zero" echo time for fMRI data method, and discuss its advantages compared with the traditional fMRI technique.

Workshop highlights

This webinar will discuss with fMRI neuromodulation and recording at the same time, and demonstrate how to use these tools to solve the specific research questions related to the nerve vascular coupling. In addition, also introduce the use of zero echo time fMRI, and shows the advantages of its application in fMRI.

Recommend participants

Wants to consolidate the fMRI records and stimulate neurons activity during the period of the researchers, as well as to the conscious imaging, to avoid confusion to anesthesia, reduce imaging distortion and improve the detection sensitivity of interest to researchers
